EQUINE FINE ART & PORTRAITURE

There is a silent language between a horse and their person—a bond built on trust, strength, and grace. My equine sessions are designed to honor that connection through a dual lens of fine-art elegance and authentic documentation. My work is dedicated to the horse as a masterpiece—focusing on the interplay of light, shadow, and the raw power of their form.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How should I prepare my horse?

Your horse should be washed, dried, and neatly groomed as if for a competition. Manes and tails can be braided or left natural, but tack and halters should be clean and polished.

2. How many horses can be included?

Our packages are designed for one horse. For additional horses or large-scale property shoots, please contact me for a custom quote to work out the logistics.

3. What about travel?

Travel within a 50km radius of the Redlands/Brisbane region is included. I am available for travel to the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, and Toowoomba, which may incur additional mileage fees.

4. What if the weather is poor?

If heavy rain or storms are predicted for an outdoor session, we will get in touch the day before to reschedule at no additional cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

5. Can I be in the photos with my horse?

Absolutely—in fact, I encourage it. Whether you want to be dressed in formal wear for an editorial look or in your everyday riding gear for a more natural "Paddock & Connection" feel, capturing the bond between you is a beautiful way to document your story.

6. My horse is quite high-energy; can we still get good shots?

Yes! I understand that horses can be unpredictable or easily spooked. We take a patient, calm approach, allowing plenty of time for your horse to settle into the environment—sometimes those high-energy "ears forward" moments actually make for the most striking portraits.

7. What should I do about fly spray or coat shine?

I recommend applying any coat shine or fly spray well before the shoot starts to ensure it has time to settle and doesn't create an unnatural "greasy" look under the studio lights. Always keep a cloth on hand for last-minute touch-ups to the eyes and muzzle to keep them looking clean and bright.

8. Do I need a specific type of halter or bridle?

For fine-art and studio sessions, a clean, well-fitting leather halter or a simple bridle usually looks best as it doesn't distract from the horse’s face. If you are doing a "The Signature Collection" session, we can even discuss using a "thin" show halter that is easily edited out to create a truly "loose" and ethereal look.
